Local Presence

Serving Temecula Valley Wine Country from Corona, CA

The Temecula Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA) is home to more than 50 licensed wineries and is one of California’s fastest-growing wine regions. Most winery IT providers are based in San Diego or Los Angeles — a 60 to 90 minute drive. IT Center’s office at 1159 Pomona Rd, Corona puts our team 25 miles from Temecula, making same-day on-site dispatch a practical reality, not a promise.

Proximity matters when a barrel cave sensor triggers at 2 AM, a harvest-season POS goes down on a Saturday, or a new seasonal hire needs a workstation configured before the weekend crowd arrives. Our local footprint means we’re there when it counts.

  • On-site dispatch within hours, not the next business day
  • Familiar with Temecula Valley AVA geography and rural connectivity challenges
  • Available for tasting room walkthroughs, network assessments, and hardware installs
  • Supporting wineries from Rancho California Road to De Portola Wine Trail
  • Inland Empire roots — serving Murrieta, Fallbrook, and Escondido agribusinesses too

Cold Chain Monitoring

IoT Temperature Monitoring for Barrel Rooms, Caves & Tank Rooms

Wine quality depends on precise temperature control. A single excursion in a barrel cave can damage an entire vintage. IT Center deploys and manages IoT sensor networks with cellular backup so your cold chain never relies on a single internet connection.

Critical Temperature Ranges

Min °F
65°
Max °F
Barrel Cave / Aging Room55–60°F
Stainless Tank Room60–65°F
Bottling / Finished Goods60–65°F
Relative Humidity Target60–80%
Alert thresholds are fully configurable. Alerts fire via SMS, email, and push notification when readings drift outside your defined bands.
Continuous Sensor Logging
Temperature, humidity, and differential pressure sensors report every 60 seconds. All data is stored in tamper-evident cloud logging for regulatory and insurance documentation.
Cellular Failover — Always Connected
Rural properties lose internet. Our IoT gateways include 4G/LTE cellular backup so sensors keep reporting even during ISP outages — critical during harvest when you cannot afford blind spots.
Instant Multi-Channel Alerts
When temperature goes out of range, your winemaker, cellar master, and IT Center’s NOC all receive simultaneous alerts. Configurable escalation ensures action is always taken.
Segmented IoT Network Security
IoT devices are isolated on dedicated VLANs, keeping sensors separate from POS, wine club, and administrative systems. IT Center manages firmware updates and device security posture.
FDA Compliance

FSMA Rule 204 — Effective November 2026

The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act Traceability Rule (21 CFR Part 1, Subpart S) takes effect November 7, 2026. It requires electronic traceability records for foods on the Food Traceability List — including certain wine and grape products. Wineries and growers must maintain Key Data Elements (KDEs) at each Critical Tracking Event (CTE) and produce records within 24 hours of an FDA request.

01
Gap Assessment — What Records Do You Have Today?
IT Center audits your current record-keeping systems — paper logs, spreadsheets, eCellar, Vintrace — to map gaps against FSMA 204’s Key Data Elements for growing, receiving, transforming, and shipping events.
02
Electronic Traceability Infrastructure
We deploy or integrate electronic traceability systems that capture Traceability Lot Codes (TLCs) at each CTE. Cloud-based storage ensures records are available within the FDA’s 24-hour response window.
03
Supply Chain Data Sharing
FSMA 204 requires passing traceability data to the next entity in the supply chain. IT Center configures secure data exchange with your distributors, retailers, and logistics partners.
04
Staff Training & SOP Documentation
Compliance requires more than technology. We document your traceability procedures, train harvest and cellar staff, and maintain a written Food Traceability Plan as required by the rule.
Food Traceability Plan
Required written plan identifying the foods you handle, applicable CTEs, and KDE capture procedures. IT Center documents and maintains this plan on your behalf.
24-Hour Record Retrieval
FDA may request records within 24 hours during a foodborne illness investigation. We architect retrieval systems that respond by lot code, date, or product quickly and accurately.
Ongoing Compliance Monitoring
Regulatory rules evolve. IT Center monitors FDA guidance updates and adjusts your traceability systems and procedures to stay ahead of enforcement actions.

Wine Club CCPA — Protecting Member PII

California’s CCPA and CPRA apply to wineries collecting personal information from wine club members. Direct-to-consumer (DtC) wine shipping means you’re handling names, payment cards, shipping addresses, purchase histories, and email addresses at scale — all personal information under California law.

Member PII Your Winery Collects
  • Full names and date of birth (age verification)
  • Credit card and payment information
  • Shipping and billing addresses
  • Wine purchase history and preferences
  • Email addresses and phone numbers
  • Tasting room visit records
How IT Center Addresses CCPA Obligations
Data Mapping & Inventory
We map where member PII lives across eCellar, WineDirect, POS systems, email platforms, and cloud storage — the required starting point for any CCPA compliance program.
Right-to-Delete Implementation
CCPA grants consumers the right to request deletion of their personal information. We implement workflows and technical controls to honor delete requests across all integrated systems.
Data Security & Encryption
Member payment data and PII are encrypted at rest and in transit. Access controls ensure only authorized staff can view sensitive records. MFA is enforced across all wine club platforms.
Vendor Risk Management
CCPA extends to your service providers. We review DtC shipping partners, email marketing vendors, and POS processors for data handling compliance before you share member data.
Breach Response Planning
California’s breach notification law requires prompt notification when member PII is compromised. IT Center maintains a documented incident response plan specific to your winery’s systems.
Common Challenges

IT Pain Points Unique to Wineries & Agribusiness

Generic MSPs don’t understand harvest season, barrel room IoT, or DtC compliance. IT Center does.

Rural Connectivity
Hillside vineyards often have limited fiber options. A single ISP outage takes down POS, sensors, and reservations simultaneously. Cellular failover is not optional — it’s essential infrastructure.
Seasonal Staffing Surge
Harvest brings a surge of temporary workers and tasting room staff. IT Center provisions and deprovisions accounts rapidly, enforcing least-privilege access so seasonal hires cannot reach member data.
Cold Chain Uptime
HVAC and refrigeration failures in barrel caves can destroy vintage inventory worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Proactive IoT monitoring and rapid alert response is the only reliable safeguard.
Tasting Room POS Security
Tasting rooms process hundreds of card transactions weekly. PCI DSS compliance, network segmentation between guest Wi-Fi and POS, and endpoint protection against POS malware are non-negotiable.
